Seems just like yesterday

September 10th, 2008

At least it does according to this blog. The third annual Pushing Up Pumpkins artshow opening is on October 26th at Mercury Tattoo in Glenside. Pretty much the same deal as last year and the year before. Artists, artwork, costumes, beer and brownies. What’s not to like? I will have a piece in the show. Just not sure what it will be yet. So if you are at all interested, come on out.

Update

August 8th, 2008

I am happy to say that I am still alive. I am going to try to keep this more updated. Not sure why I really stopped. Probably because I stink. I know you are not going to hold your breath waiting for new posts though. Neither would I.

Pushing Up Pumpkins

October 15th, 2007

Just wanted to let you know that I am involved in a Hallween-themed group art show called Pushing Up Pumpkins. The opening of the show is on Sunday, October 28th at Mercury Tattoo in Glenside, PA from 4-9. I did some photos for the show and I am pretty psyched about them. So, if you are looking for a good time on a Sunday night, come out, drink some beers, and support your local artists.

Been too long

August 22nd, 2007

It’s time to start updating the blog again. I have been sidetracked (or maybe completely diverted is the right term) since starting my new job. Oh, I got a new job, finally, and it’s going well. Took a little change of course with the career path as I am now working as a project manager. I am managing the workflow of websites. Might sound boring, but I am learning a lot about internet technologies, both front and back end, and seeing the process in which things get done. If nothing more, it’s a great resource to have the knowledge of how these things work for the future because, you know, I don’t think teh interwebs are going anywhere any time soon.

The bad thing is that I have been so consumed with learning and then being tired from learning all day, I have not had much time to shoot many photos. And, those that I have shot, I have not had the time (or energy) to process them. But, that is changing in the very near future. I started the other night, so expect photos from Monterey, Big Sur, and Puerto Rico…as well as other random shots.

So there you have it. I am still alive. I am doing well. And things are starting to pick up around here again.

One more

Some new stuff

May 3rd, 2007

I have been chuggin along (as slowly as it may be) on the new website. Go check out the homepage. I am also posting a lot of new photos in the “Recent” section. So, if you haven’t been there yet, there’s a lot of new stuff for you to see.

I have been doing a lot of experimenting lately. Creating. Figuring out. I constructed a make-shift lens for my D100 using the lens from the a Holga, a body cap, and an old film canister. I learned how to do it from instructions posted here and it works great. I am even able to have different focal lengths. The only thing that bothered me was the crop factor due to the sensor size. The cropping of all the images was really tight. So, I added a wide angle converter in front of the Holga lense. The image crop is now a lot closer to that of the film camera. The image above was shot using the new lense.

Vote it up, you.

I am trying to get a photo published in JPG magazine. It’s a photo I took in 04 in NY and goes well with the “America” theme it is submitted under. Please vote so I can become famous. Just click below. Thanks.

Update

April 13th, 2007

For the first time in many years, I am actually redesigning the slapey site…from head to toe. I started it today and have made some serious progress. I will let you know when it’s done.

Here’s the word, bird.

April 6th, 2007

So, I haven’t posted anything on here in a little bit. That’s because I am currently figuring out better way to display the photos. This blog software is pretty cool and easy. But when it comes to photos, it’s not so good. You can only post them up to a certain size and they are all really cramped together in the post. So, I am looking at other options for galleries. Unfortunately, it looks like the comments will no longer be available. I will still be updating with news and such here though. And I will have a link to it from my homepage. Yeah, that means I am actually redesigning my site in the near near future. Blasphemy.

And here is a photo I took today to wet your whistle.

A great way to kill time

March 30th, 2007

I took a 2 1/2 hour stroll the other evening, hitting up many different neighborhoods. Most of these photos are from that stroll. Enjoy.
